Deputies of Rivne City Council urged the Verkhovna Rada to ban the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

On June 19, 2024, deputies of the Rivne City Council adopted an appeal to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in which they called for the immediate adoption of the bill No. 8371, aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The Rivne City Council believes that this law is «extremely important for the country.» 22 out of 42 deputies voted in favor of the appeal. About it reports the site «Rivne Media».
«We want with this appeal to declare our position that the Verkhovna Rada still introduced and voted for this bill, which is very important for our country in the war against the aggressor», — said the Deputy Anastasia Kulakevich.
