We will prepare a statement to the ICC because of attempts to induce the hierarchs of the UOC to exchange for prisoners of war - Amsterdam

The head of the international human rights company Amsterdam & Partners LLP, Robert Amsterdam, who represents the legal interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, has criticized the Ukrainian government over attempts to induce the UOC hierarchs under investigation to be exchanged for prisoners of war. The lawyer said that his company will prepare appropriate applications to the International Criminal Court and other organizations describing the facts of such situations. About this he wrote in his account in X.

«Ukraine is engaged in war crimes — hostage-taking. Metropolitan Theodosius, like others, is being unjustly persecuted. I have been told that only through a prisoner exchange with an enemy state will the false charges be dropped. He is not alone. If this travesty is not stopped immediately, we will prepare statements to the ICC prosecutor’s office about this outrageous behavior and bring it to the attention of Western allies. Hostage-taking and hate crimes are not a solution for a government supported by the United States,» — wrote the human rights activist.

Recall, earlier we reported that Robert Amsterdam sent an open letter to the current President of the UN Security Council Filipe Jacinto Newsy with a request for urgent consideration of the issue of persecution of the UOC in the UN Security Council.
