"It is necessary to listen to the recommendations that we receive from international and Ukrainian experts," - religious scholar on the inadmissibility of the ban of the UOC

A well-known lobbyist for the OCU in the media, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor at the Skovoroda Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Liudmyla Filipovych, has stated that it is inadmissible to adopt Bill 8371, which aims to ban the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Filipovych is convinced that in this matter, parliamentarians should listen to the opinion of international experts who criticized this law in its approved form. She said this in a commentary to 24.ua.
«We need to listen to the recommendations we receive from international and Ukrainian experts, who were not involved in the analysis and examination of the latest version of the law. It clearly lacks mechanisms for how tactics should be used to combat religious organizations that do not work in favor of Ukraine,» — says Filipovych.
The religious scholar added that if representatives of the Church violate the law and this is recorded by law enforcement agencies, the punishment should be individual, not collective.
«I am in favor of each case being considered individually, point by point, as we say. I want sufficient evidence to be collected so that these are not just political decisions, so that they are based on a good legal basis,» — Filipovych stated.
Earlier, Liudmyla Fylypovych accused MPs from the pro-presidential Servant of the People party of incompetence in the adoption of Law No. 8371. She emphasized that the MPs did not understand that the adoption of the law in its current state would create many problems that would be extremely difficult to circumvent legally and in fact later.
