The Constantinople patriarchate in the U.S. is already praying for Trump's victory

On July 16, 2024, in Milwaukee, the head of the Greek Archdiocese of the Phanar in the United States, Archbishop Elpidophoros (Lambriniadis), during one of the Republican Party of America’s campaign rallies, proclaimed a prayer for the victory of U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump in the upcoming election. Elpidofor reported this on his Facebook page, additionally publishing its text.

“Almighty and eternal God, in peace we come before you and pray for your infinite goodness. Oversee this gathering of our nation’s political leaders and grant them enlightened hearts and minds to serve their fellow citizens at this Republican National Convention. Grant the candidate, President Donald J. Trump, and his advisors and consultants wisdom, grace, and a spirit of duty. That they will be able to meet the needs of all Americans, shining the light of good government on the venerable institutions of the “world’s best hope” for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for every person,” — reads the text of the prayer.

We will remind, earlier we reported that the head of the international human rights company “Amsterdam & Partners LLP” Robert Amsterdam, representing the legal interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, called on Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople to respond to the law № 8371, aimed at banning the activities of the UOC.
