“The issue will be decided now before your eyes,” - MP Knyazhytsky about the ban of the UOC

An MP of the European Solidarity party, Mykola Knyazhytskyy, has said that the fate of draft law No 8371 aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will be decided “now”, apparently hinting that the Verkhovna Rada will try to put the law to a vote today. About this he wrote on his Facebook page.

“The activity of the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine should be banned, because it threatens national security. About this bill, the need to consider which is insisted on by the majority of people’s deputies. The project does not concern any of the Ukrainian churches. Only those who call themselves Ukrainian remain part of the Russian Orthodox Church. It would be enough for them to break this connection with Moscow, so that it would not concern them either. But they don’t want to. They threaten, bribe MPs, spread fake news. Real soldiers of the aggressor’s army. The issue will now be decided before your eyes”, – wrote Knyazhytsky.

We will remind, the day before the people’s Deputy of Ukraine Eugene Shevchenko reported that the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on humanitarian and information policy Nikita Poturaev demands to bring the bill № 8371, aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, on Tuesday, July 23rd
