“We have problems with it both in the U.S. and in the Vatican": Nardep Bezuglaya about the law about the ban of the UOC

Scandalous Ukrainian MP Maryana Bezuglaya, who recently resigned from the Servant of the People faction, has said that the Ukrainian parliament is afraid to pass draft law No 8371 aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church because of its rejection in the USA and the Vatican. Bezuglaya said that the Verkhovna Rada will soon send a parliamentary group to the United States, which will convince the Americans to give a “green light” to ban the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. About this the Deputy wrote in her Facebook account.

“I did not want to write about the squabbles in Parliament regarding the Russian Church and whether we really have vacations. However, I see, “carried”, so I will explain something on the basis of my own observations, clarifications:
– There are enough votes for the bill.
– Knowing this, the opposition is swinging the vote, while the influence groups of the Moscow patriarchate are doing the opposite.
– The current bill was introduced by the Cabinet of Ministers and was an initiative of the President, so the head of state, the OP, the Cabinet of Ministers, and the SSU are in favor of voting.
– The SSU has repeatedly sent letters to the parliamentarians to vote in favor of the bill.
– The SSU letter asking for help also went to the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, but the Committee froze out and did not hold a single meeting dedicated to threats to national security from the agent network of the Moscow Patriarchate,” – Bezuglaya wrote.

The MP added that despite the willingness of MPs to ban the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the bill No. 8371 is opposed in the United States and even in the Vatican. Because of this, deputies are afraid to bring the bill to a vote now, and in the near future will try to justify its necessity in the States.

“There are thousands of faiths in the U.S., from the ordinary to the most exotic to the downright threatening, and this topic is going over well, especially in the Republican environment. So well that we have signals that people’s deputies who vote will be sanctioned and the like. Now, every hryvnia is predominantly partners’ money, and a huge portion of it is specifically US funds, so getting into a pose in the tumultuous times of their elections is dangerous not only for the concept of bipartisan support, but any support at all. In order to settle the matter, provide additional clarifications, etc., and realizing that it is difficult to compete with the billions invested by the Russians in lobbying and propaganda, another Ukrainian delegation will travel to the U.S. next week to negotiate with arguments regarding the categorical situation in parliament. We also have problems with the bill in the Vatican: they are expressing caveats there. This is also a factor of Russian influence and not the first such case in the Vatican, but it is also a consequence of their traditions,” – added the MP.

We shall remind you that earlier it became known that the State Department of the United States of America is preparing a possible introduction of personal sanctions against Ukrainian MPs and officials who initiated the process of banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church by adopting the scandalous bill No. 8371. The list includes six top Ukrainian officials who are trying to ban the Ukrainian Orthodox Church more than others.
