“All for exchange": The media continue to develop the theme with the exchange of priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for prisoners of war

A campaign aimed at convincing the public of the need for a mass exchange of clergymen of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for Ukrainian prisoners of war on the territory of Russia continues in the Ukrainian mass media. The corresponding call is published on theukrainians.org website.

“There is another initiative, which also concerns the UOC (MP) – to exchange priests of the Moscow Patriarchate for wounded prisoners of war during the terrorist attack in Yelenovka on the night of July 29, 2022. The public organization “Yelenivka Community” started talking about this back in May. According to the organization, about 120 wounded during the terrorist attack that night are still being held captive, 59 of them are seriously wounded, but there has been no information about most of them for more than a year. This was stated by the representative of the organization, the wife of the Ukrainian defender Maria Alekseevich, in a comment to Ukrayinska Pravda at the time. In addition to priests of the UOC (MP) in the organization also offer to exchange Vyacheslav Boguslaev and Nestor Shufrych. Also about the idea of the exchange of priests of the UOC-MP for all Ukrainian prisoners of war wrote on his page in social network X chief of staff of the brigade “Azov” Bohdan Krotevich”, – stated in the message.

Muzhdabaev believes that UOC priests are “the coolest exchange fund.”
