We shall remind you that earlier we reported that the Primate of the Antiochian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch John X, sent a letter to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, in which he expressed support for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in connection with the adoption in Ukraine of the scandalous law No. 8371, aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
“The fault of the Gramota": the MP explained why the UOC is still considered part of the ROC

An MP of the European Solidarity party, Rostyslav Pavlenko, has explained why the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is still considered part of the Moscow Patriarchate. Pavlenko believes that the direct proof of such affiliation is the 1990 Diploma of Patriarch Alexy II “On granting independence and autonomy to the UOC”. The MP told about this in an interview with the Ukrainian News.
“It is in the diploma of Alexis ІІ it is written that they are united with the entirety of the Orthodox Church, as in the Creed — the One Holy United Apostolic Church — through the ROC. This means, translated into secular language, that the UOC-MP is, as it is written in the charter of the ROC, its structural subdivision. But this is a canonical issue. And when it comes to the assessment and analysis of the UOC-MP from the point of view of this law, this compliance will be established. And then the mechanisms of this law will begin to operate, again in 9 months. Therefore, instead of waiting, it is necessary to fulfill the law,” — Pavlenko said.
