A schismatic archimandrite plans to seize two UOC churches in Kremenchuk

The Diocese of Kremenchuk of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has published a report that the Holy Dormition Cathedral and the Holy Trinity Church in Kremenchuk have recently undergone illegal legal re-registration. In the near future, it is planned to seize these churches by force. The initiator of this lawlessness is Archimandrite Theodosius (Ovcharuk Ruslan Anatolyevich), who joined the OCU in early 2023. The message is posted on the official website of the diocese.

“We emphasize that on September 1, 2024, parish general meetings were held at the Holy Dormition Cathedral and the Holy Trinity Church, at which the clergy and parishioners of these churches expressed their support for the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Onufriy, and also noted their continued presence in the bosom of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The rectors indicated that none of the individuals or legal entities were authorized to represent or speak on behalf of religious communities. Despite the above information, the Poltava DMA still conducted an illegal re-registration,” – the diocese said in a statement.

Earlier, we reported that Archpriest Stepan Ivanychko, a cleric of the Volyn Eparchy of the UOC, who was banned from ministry for falling into schism, “transferred” the third parish of the canonical Church in the Volyn region to the OCU. This time, the victim of the “pirate priest” was the parish of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in the village of Bukiv, Lutsk district.
