Robert Amsterdam criticized Ukrainian law enforcement agencies because of pressure on the UOC

The head of the international human rights company Amsterdam & Partners LLP, Robert Amsterdam, who represents the legal interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, criticized Ukrainian law enforcement agencies for becoming an instrument of pressure on the UOC in the hands of the government. The lawyer said this in his account on the social network X.
“The situation for many priests in Ukraine is very difficult. The police and the secret police are used as a tool of the Zelensky regime to actually destroy the church and create a new state church that will be patriotic and will not become an independent center of political thought,” – Amsterdam said.
It is worth noting that recently the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States (an association operating under the auspices of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of the United States of America of the Patriarchate of Constantinople) criticized the anti-church law No. 3894 (formerly No. 8371), adopted on August 20 by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The organization believes that the law threatens the freedom of religion of millions of Ukrainian citizens.
