People's deputy names participants in the seizure of the UOC Cathedral in Cherkasy

Ukrainian MP Artem Dmytruk has published information in which he lists the paramilitary units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and radical nationalist organizations that took part in the seizure of the Archangel Michael Cathedral of the Cherkasy Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The MP emphasized that sooner or later, all those involved in the seizure of the cathedral in Cherkasy will be held accountable. Dmytruk wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

“According to my information, the following units of the Armed Forces and right-wing radicals took part in the bloody seizure of St. Michael’s Cathedral of the UOC in Cherkasy – soldiers of the 118th Brigade; – organized crime gangs from Korsun-Shevchenkivske (Cherkasy region). The members of the organized crime group. The group was led by a certain Oleh Kasyanenko. He regularly participates in and leads other forceful seizures of UOC churches. – The right-wing radicals from the organization “Basis of the Future” is a Nazi structure operating under the auspices of SBU officer Yevhen Karas. Its members are minors who do the dirtiest work: they nightmare developers, participate in Nazi marches and rallies, terrorize the media and journalists, and attack people. The organization operates as a wing of Karas’s C14 group. David Pshenychnyi, who shot at the faithful in the cathedral, represents this structure. – The organization “Smelyanska Sotnia”. Its members took part in the seizure itself and were responsible for the protection of the already seized cathedral. – The radicals came from other regions and cities, including Kyiv,” – Dmytruk said.

The deputy added that sooner or later all those who took part in the seizure of the UOC Cathedral in Cherkasy will be punished.

“All these ‘warriors’ should understand one simple thing. You can’t hurt women, the elderly, monks, priests, children, the disabled and just those who are obviously weaker than you. This is the law of life, my rules, if you will. Your parents or life did not teach you this, so punishment will teach you. There was no heroism in your actions. There were clear and planned criminal actions that we recorded and identified. Everyone will be held accountable! It will not be possible to say that “I was forced”, “I went for the company”, etc.”, – the MP added.

Earlier, Cherkasy Mayor Anatoly Bondarenko said that the Archangel Michael Cathedral of the Cherkasy Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, seized by radicals, would be transferred to municipal ownership. Thus, the OCU will use the church on a lease basis.
