Diocese of ROCOR in USA expresses support for UOC Metropolitan Theodosius

The bishops and clergy of the Chicago and Mid-American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia expressed support for the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Theodosius of Cherkasy and Kaniv, in connection with the raider seizure of St. Michael’s Cathedral in Cherkasy by supporters of the OCU. This is stated in a resolution published on the website of the diocese.

“We express our condolences to Metropolitan Theodosius of Cherkasy in connection with the violent seizure of his cathedral and complain about the ongoing confiscation of other shrines under the omophorion of Metropolitan Onufriy. We call on believers to pray for all Orthodox Christians who are experiencing wars and persecution around the world,” — the resolution reads.

Earlier, the hierarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Gabriel of Lovechanka, sent a letter to the head of the Cherkasy Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Theodosius of Cherkasy and Kaniv, in which he expressed support for the seizure of the Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel in Cherkasy.
