Primates of Serbian and Georgian Churches congratulate Metropolitan Onufriy on his 80th birthday

The Heads of the Serbian and Georgian Orthodox Churches congratulated His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine on the 80th birthday. The patriarchs noted the many years of work of the Metropolitan of Kyiv for the benefit of the Holy Church and wished him strength to overcome the difficult trials that the UOC has faced. This was reported by the UOC Information and Education Department.

“Decades of ascetic ministry have earned you authority and respect in the Church of Christ. Your efforts to protect the common Christian values of love for one’s neighbor, goodness, truth … against the background of the trials that Ukraine has faced,” — wrote Georgian Patriarch Ilia in his greeting.

In turn, Serbian Patriarch Porfirije expressed to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy “the most sincere prayerful wishes for a long and zealous service to God and the long-suffering people of the sister Ukrainian Orthodox Church entrusted to His Beatitude.”

“We pray from the bottom of our hearts that the God of love and the Good Shepherd will send peace to your land, to the hearts of the flock entrusted to you, grant you inexhaustible love, bodily strength, spiritual strength and constant help in your difficult but God-pleasing archpastoral ministry. Many and blessed years, Your Beatitude,” — said the Primate of the Serbian Church.
