Local Churches begin consultations on settlement of church conflict in Ukraine - mass media

The Local Orthodox Churches have begun consultations on resolving the Ukrainian church crisis. It is reported that the process was initiated in connection with the change of leadership of the United States of America, as key figures from Donald Trump’s environment are closely monitoring the religious situation in Ukraine and are determined to solve this problem. This is reported in the material of the Serbian edition of the Journal.

The publication reports that the Phanar is dissatisfied with the figure of the head of the OCU Epiphany Dumenko, but the Greeks remain unwavering about the autocephaly of the Church in Ukraine. In addition, it is claimed that the former Secretary of State of President-elect Donald Trump, Mike Pompeo, played a key role in the formation and establishment of the OCU, but Tucker Carlson and future Vice President Vance have repeatedly pointed to the neglect of fundamental freedoms in Ukraine due to the persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

In addition, the Serbian Orthodox Church is involved in the process and has taken on an intermediary role. This is the reason for Patriarch Porfirije’s recent meeting with the Ukrainian ambassador to Serbia, during which the first hierarch emphasized that the Ukrainian government is not approaching the issue of overcoming the church crisis in the country correctly.
