Chernivtsi RSA tells how many UOC churches in the region were taken away in favor of OCU

The Chernivtsi Regional State Administration has published information on how many communities and churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church have been re-registered in favor of the OCU since 2022. In total, the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration took away 25 churches from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the region. This is reported by Suspilne.Chernivtsi.
“In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, religious communities in 25 settlements have moved from the UOC to the OCU. In particular, in 2023, there were 12 transitions from the UOC to the OCU in the region. Pogorelovka, Ringach, Chornyi Potik, Prylypche, Malyi Kuchuriv, Rzhavintsy, Rososhany, Ivanivtsi, Kaplivka, Sokyryany, Lenkivtsi of the Dniester district and Berezhonka of the Vyzhnytsia district were transferred. In 2022, there were six transitions from the UOC to the OCU in Khlivyshcha, Verbivtsi, Yurkivtsi, Khreshchatyk, Babyno, Chernivtsi district, and Babyno, Dniester district,” – the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration said in a statement.
Earlier, we reported that the Chernivtsi City Council continues to try to arrange paid municipal parking on the territory of the Holy Spirit Cathedral of the Chernivtsi Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The city council complains that the clergy and believers are obstructing the implementation of this plan.
