“Zelensky and Co. are pursuing a line to destroy Orthodoxy,” ex-deputy

Former member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ihor Mosiychuk criticized Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the current government of Ukraine for holding secular events in the Refectory Church of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The politician is convinced that Zelensky’s government, under the guise of fighting the Moscow Patriarchate, is pursuing a systematic policy of destroying Orthodoxy as the most widespread religion in Ukraine. At the same time, he added that the OCU, instead of opposing such processes, condones what is happening. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
“The Refectory Church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra is gradually turning into a kind of club of the times of cultural enlightenment by the GREEN HUNWEIBINS, where concerts, party and organizational events are held… and now a prayer breakfast, where people do not pray, but eat and listen to the sermon of the Soviet Jew Zelensky. Zelensky and Co. are methodically and consistently pursuing a line of destruction of Orthodoxy as a traditional national religion professed by the majority of Ukrainians under the pretext of fighting the Kremlin and the Moscow Patriarchate! There is a methodical cleansing of the Orthodox faith and Ukrainian national traditions as the basis of the existence of our Ukrainian people in order to turn its remnants into biomass that can be easily controlled by globalists and satanists! At the front, Ukrainians are being utilized due to incompetence or criminal intent of the military and political leadership, while in the rear, their souls are being burned out! And the “renovationists” from the OCU either silently watch or even approve of this,” — the former MP wrote.
On December 6, 2024, a “military prayer breakfast” was held in the Refectory Church of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra under the auspices of the Office of the President of Ukraine. The event, organized in the premises of the Orthodox church, was attended by representatives of various denominations, political and military organizations. Social media users were outraged that the church had been turned into a venue for secular events, drawing parallels with Ukraine’s communist past, when places of worship were closed by the authorities or reorganized for non-targeted needs.
