Trial of Metropolitan Theodosius postponed due to air raid alert

The court hearing in one of the cases against the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Theodosius of Cherkasy and Kaniv, which was to take place on December 23, 2024, in the Sosnivsky District Court of Cherkasy, was postponed due to the air raid. This is reported by the publication “Suspilne.Cherkasy”.

It is reported that during the meeting, the evidence against the accused was being examined — it was about the “publication of pro-Russian narratives” on the diocese’s website. Since an air raid alert was announced in the region at 11:43 a.m., the meeting was postponed.

Earlier, the hierarch of the UOC, Metropolitan Theodosius of Cherkasy and Kaniv, appealed to the head of the Church of Constantinople, Patriarch Bartholomew, to consider the Ukrainian church issue at the pan-Orthodox level. The bishop is convinced that the recognition of Ukrainian schismatics and the granting of the Tomos of autocephaly to them was a fatal mistake that could split world Orthodoxy.
