OCU spokesman: Russian Church will also join Tomos recognition

The head of the OCU press service, Yevstratiy Zorya, said that the Russian Orthodox Church would sooner or later join the recognition of the Tomos of autocephaly of the OCU. According to Zorya, although the Russian Orthodox Church will be the last Local Church to accept the existence of the OCU, the Russian Church, like others, will accept the new reality. Zoria said this in a commentary to Radio Liberty.
“The Tomos is a reality, and this reality will not change. And which church will join this reality is an open question,” explains Metropolitan Yevstratiy, ”I think that the Russian Church will be the last to join. When Putin’s tyranny falls in Russia, when the external political conditions in Russia change, then the Russian Church will also join in recognizing the Tomos. When will this happen? Someday it will happen!”, – Zoria said.
Earlier, we reported that the OCU lobbyist in the media, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor of the Skovoroda Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Lyudmila Filipovich said that the Russian Orthodox Church envies the OCU because the organization headed by Dumenko received the Tomos, which, according to her, the ROC does not have. Filipovich said that the Russian Orthodox Church had long been in the status of an unrecognized patriarchate, having actually forced the Patriarch of Constantinople to recognize its autocephaly.
