The new document from the Italian Bishops’ Conference states that open homosexuality is no longer a barrier to candidates for the priesthood.
Human rights activists accuse Ukrainian churches of violating LGBT rights
LGBT-oriented human rights organizations in Ukraine accuse Ukrainian religious organizations of violating the rights of homosexuals. The LGBT Human Rights Center “Our World” has compiled a report on the situation of LGBT communities in Ukraine, in which it accused the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations of homophobic propaganda and influence on members of the Verkhovna Rada, which is why the parliament is slowing down the adoption of bills in favor of homosexuals. It is reported that the head of the OCU Epiphany Dumenko rejected the proposal to follow the example of Pope Francis, who allowed priests to bless same-sex couples, pointing out that even Roman and Greek Catholics of Ukraine do not support this position of the Pontiff.
“The AUCCRO has not abandoned the use of homophobic propaganda stamps, protesting against the Equality March in Kyiv as part of a “left-wing radical political movement that is a continuation of the Marxism of the past” and characterizing bills aimed at protecting LGBTQ rights as “laws that would promote the spread of the sin of debauchery and immorality in Ukrainian society,” — the human rights center’s report says.
