Trump team spokeswoman says retribution for UOC persecutors

The co-chair of the National Federation of Young Republicans, Katherine Whiteford, warned the persecutors of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of coming retribution if they do not repent and stop persecuting canonical Orthodoxy in Ukraine. Whiteford said that thanks to Trump’s victory in the US presidential election, the world will soon stop persecuting Christians, especially the faithful of the UOC. She stated this on her account on the social network X.

“Trump’s inauguration also serves as a ray of hope for suffering Christians around the world. This is especially true for Orthodox Christians, whose persecution is of key interest to the administration. Today, the United States reaffirms its role as a global defender of Christians; we are united with the administration in this mission, and tyrants around the world are on notice. To those who persecute Christians, especially those who persecute the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the UOC, I would like to convey this message: Retribution is coming. If you stop the persecution and repent now, you can save yourself from the justice to come, but time is running out. Orthodox Ukrainians, faithful of the UOC, fear nothing! The Lord is with you, your time will come soon!”, — the politician said.

Earlier, the head of the international human rights company “Amsterdam & Partners LLP” Robert Amsterdam, who represents the legal interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, warned that the deputies and officials who initiated the legal ban on the UOC would bear international responsibility. The lawyer called August 20 “a dark chapter in the history of human rights in Ukraine.”
