OCU clerics see no possibility of dialog with UOC

Oleksandr Kolb, a former cleric of the Volyn Diocese of the UOC who was banned from ministry for joining the OCU, said that he sees no prospects for a dialogue between the OCU and the UOC in the near future. Kolb argues that representatives of the denominations are fixated on their rightness and are not ready to hear each other. He said this in an interview with RISU.
“Unfortunately, in this case I am a pessimist. I do not see the possibility of inter-Orthodox dialogue now. Representatives and leaders of different denominations are closed in themselves and in their rightness and are not yet ready to hear each other. But I believe that the clergy and laity of both jurisdictions will work together to get this issue off the ground. And in this direction, the Sophia Brotherhood should become a motivator,” — Kolb said.
Earlier, Oleksandr Kolb reported that the Patriarchate of Constantinople does not intend to create separate stavropegia or exarchates for the clergy of the UOC who do not want to join the OCU.
