In Kyiv, a deacon of one of the capital's UOC monasteries was subjected to forced mobilization

On February 20, 2025, representatives of the territorial recruitment center subjected Archdeacon Andriy Batsula, a cleric of the Holy Trinity Kytaiv Monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, to forced mobilization. The incident took place in Kyiv and the clergyman is currently not in touch. This is reported by First Cossack.

“We are informed that on February 20, right in the middle of the day in Kyiv, a clergyman of the UOC was kidnapped by the TRC. The victim was Archdeacon Andriy Batsula, who serves in the Holy Trinity Kytaiv Monastery of the UOC. It is currently known that Fr. Andriy is being taken to an educational institution. Andriy is being taken to the Desna training center. There has been no communication with him since the middle of the day,” — the statement reads.

We will remind, earlier we reported that on February 19, 2025, in the Zhytomyr region, employees of the territorial recruitment center subjected Archpriest Pavel Kushnirchuk, a cleric of the Ovruch Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, to forced mobilization. The priest was taken to military units for several days, after which contact with him disappeared.
