Heating was cut off in the jail cell where the abbot of Sviatohirsk Lavra is being held

Metropolitan Arseny, the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the abbot of the Holy Dormition Sviatohirsk Lavra, is being held in the Dnipro Detention Center in inhumane conditions. In the middle of winter, the heating was turned off in the bishop’s prison cell. This is reported by the official website of the Sviatohirsk Lavra.

“Dear brothers and sisters! In the Dnipro pre-trial detention center, the heating in Metropolitan Arseny’s cell does not work. We ask for your prayers!”, — the Lavra’s press service said.

We will remind, earlier we reported that on January 30, 2025, the Sloviansk City District Court of the Donetsk Region extended the pre-trial restraint for the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the abbot of the Holy Dormition Sviatogorsk Lavra, Metropolitan Arseny. The bishop was left in jail for another two months, despite the fact that 11 Ukrainian MPs had petitioned for Metropolitan Arseniy’s release.
