Another trial in the case of eviction of monks of the Kyiv Cave Monastery will be held today

On February 27, 2025, a court hearing will be held in one of the courts of the capital in the case of termination of the agreement on the use of the Lower Lavra by the monks of the Kyiv Cave Monastery. This was reported by the monastery’s lawyer, Archpriest Nikita Chekman.

“Dear friends, on February 27, 2025, the Northern Economic Court of Appeal (Kyiv, Sholudenko St., 1 a) will hold a court hearing on the case of termination of the agreement on the use of the Lower Lavra at 13:00! We ask for holy prayers and support,” — the Lavra’s lawyer wrote.

Earlier, the OCU complained that the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve charges a monthly rent from the organization for the use of churches and buildings on the territory of the monastery. It is alleged that the reserve has made the “OCU monastery” a commercial partner, while the monks of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, who are on the territory of the “lower Lavra,” live in the monastery for free.
