The Trump couple congratulated Christians on the start of Lent

Donald and Melania Trump congratulated Christians in the United States on the beginning of Lent. The US President and the First Lady wished the believers to prepare themselves adequately for the celebration of Easter. The greeting is posted on the White House website.
“During Lent, Christians spend 40 days and 40 nights in prayer, fasting, and almsgiving to deepen their faith and strengthen their belief in the Gospel. […] As we solemnly contemplate the suffering and death of Jesus Christ on the cross during this Lenten season, let us prepare our souls for the coming glory of the Easter miracle. We wish you a prayerful and rich Lent. May Almighty God bless you and may He continue to bless the United States of America,” — the greeting reads.
As we reported earlier, on February 28, 2025, the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience congratulated the Muslims of Ukraine on the beginning of Ramadan (Muslim fasting — ed.). At the same time, the SESS website does not mention the Christian Lent, which began on March 3 for Orthodox and Greek Catholics.
