Head of OCU congratulates new Primate of Albanian Church on election

On March 16, 2025, the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, sent congratulations on the occasion of the election of the new Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan John of Korçën. Dumenko called on His Beatitude Archbishop John to pray for the OCU. The text of the greeting is published by the media.

We pray for you, for the Albanian Orthodox Church, and we ask for your prayers for our Local Church and Ukraine, for the triumph of truth and a just peace,” — Dumenko wrote.

Earlier, the Albanian Orthodox Church published a statement in support of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The AOC criticized the legislative initiatives of the Ukrainian authorities to ban the UOC and declared support for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in a period of difficult trials.
