Head of the Greek Church congratulates on election of new Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church

On March 17, 2025, the Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos, held a telephone conversation with the newly elected Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Archbishop John. The First Hierarch of the GOC congratulated his brother on his election to the high level of the High Priestly ministry. It is reported by Romfea.gr.

“His Beatitude, Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, contacted His Beatitude Archbishop John, the newly elected Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and All Albania, by phone, to whom he expressed his warm congratulations on his election. His Beatitude also sent Archbishop John a Synodal letter in which he wished him a long, prudent, evangelical, ecclesiastical and ecclesiastical-primate pastorate in the Holy Spirit for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ and for the spiritual benefit of the People of God,” – the statement reads.

Earlier, we reported that His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, on behalf of the bishops and faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, congratulated His Beatitude Archbishop John of Albania on his election as Primate. Metropolitan Onufriy emphasized the high authority of Archbishop John in the Orthodox world, reminding him of the friendly relations between the Ukrainian and Albanian Orthodox Churches.
