Pope makes his first public appearance in the Vatican

The head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, took part in public events in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican. This was the first time since the pontiff was discharged from the hospital. It is reported by Reuters.

It is reported that the pontiff appeared in St. Peter’s Square in a wheelchair. At the main altar, Pope Francis greeted the audience and thanked them for their prayers. “Happy Sunday to everyone. Thank you very much,” — he said.

Earlier, Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin said that the RCC is looking for new models for Pope Francis to fulfill his duties, as his health condition will not allow the pontiff to lead the church as he did before.
