Head of Russian spiritual mission in Jerusalem criticizes “examination” of relics of Kyiv Cave Monks

The head of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem, Archimandrite Roman (Krasovsky), criticized the “examination” of the imperishable relics of the Kyiv Caves Monks. Archimandrite Roman called the provocative work of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine blasphemy, calling for an immediate end to the desecration of shrines. This is reported by the press service of the Mission.

“They are trying to give a scientific look to the desecration of Orthodox shrines and the Orthodox people. You have myrrh-emitting skulls there, how can you explain it [scientifically]? It is impossible. This is a decoration, something tangible for the Western audience to justify the persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church,” — said Archimandrite Roman.

As reported earlier, the hierarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Gabriel of Lovechanka, criticized the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture for the actual desecration of the relics of the Kyiv Cave Monks, which are kept in the Holy Dormition Kyiv Cave Monastery. In addition, the bishop expressed support for Metropolitan Theodosius, the head of the Cherkasy Diocese of the UOC.
