As reported, on March 31, 2025, representatives of the state executive service recorded the fact that the Vladimir-Volyn Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was unwilling to leave the state-expropriated complex of premises of the Holy Dormition Cathedral in Vladimir-Volynsky, which also houses the diocesan administration and theological school. In this regard, a fine was imposed on the diocese and an announcement was made of a future forced eviction.
Volodymyr-Volyn Eparchy of UOC asks court to give six months for eviction from Cathedral

The Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has filed a petition with the Economic Court of Volyn Oblast to extend the deadline for eviction from the Holy Dormition Cathedral complex, which houses the diocesan administration and theological school. In the petition of the diocesan lawyer, this request is motivated by the fact that the Church needs time to remove all its property from the premises expropriated by the state. This was reported by the regional publication Bug.
It is reported that the author of the appeal to the court is the lawyer of the UOC, Archpriest Nikita Chekman. In the statement, he asks for a 6-month delay in the implementation of the decision to transfer the complex of buildings of the Holy Dormition Cathedral of the UOC in Volodymyr-Volynskyi to the state.
Taking into account the request of the defense, the Economic Court of the Volyn Region scheduled a court hearing for April 29 to examine this issue.
However, the Executive Service of the Volyn Regional Administration informed the Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese of the UOC that they must leave the premises expropriated by the state in ten days, otherwise the Church will be fined again and a report on non-compliance with the court decision will be filed with the police.
