“After Easter”: Head of Cherkasy Diocese of OCU announces seizure of two more UOC churches in regional center

The head of the Cherkasy Diocese of the OCU, Ivan Yaremenko, announced the seizure of two more churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Cherkasy. These are churches in honor of the Nativity of Christ and the Apostle Andrew the First-Called. Yaremenko claims that the OCU will “enter their churches” after Easter. He said this in a commentary to the regional publication “18000”.
«The communities will not enter these churches for now. It is important not to create negativity towards parishioners who love their churches. Holy Week is coming, then Bright Sunday, and after Leading Sunday we plan to enter our churches, regardless of how the Moscow priests react. Our communities are categorical,» — Yaremenko said.
