UOC believers in Vashkovtsy fear night storming of the church by OCU raiders

Regular services continue in the St. Nicholas Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the town of Vashkivtsi in Bukovyna. Despite the external silence, the situation remains tense: believers report about blocking of roads to the entrance to the city by police officers. This is reported on the Dozor channel on First Cossack.

As of today, there is no direct presence of aggressive groups of the OCU or radicals on the site. However, parishioners do not rule out a violent scenario of events, particularly at night.

They express concern that in the evening or at night the temple may try to seize “Epiphany’s thieves”, who have already repeatedly used the tactic of surprise raiding attacks.

The believers call for intensified prayer and stay in the temple to protect their holy shrine.

We shall remind you that Belarusian human rights activist and religious scholar Natalia Vasilevich expressed concern about the seizure of Ukrainian Orthodox Church churches in Bukovyna, noting that these actions could cause serious damage to the national security of Ukraine.
