“All but four”: Patriarch Kirill congratulates Primates of Local Churches on Easter

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has published a congratulatory message on Easter addressed to the Primates of the Local Orthodox Churches of the world. Congratulatory messages were sent to the Heads of all Orthodox Churches, except Constantinople, Alexandria, Cyprus and Hellas. This is reported by the website of the Russian Orthodox Church’s OVCS.

“Christ is Risen! Today has come for us, believers, a long, eternal and undying, bright day – the sacramental Pascha (St. John Chrysostom. Word 6 on Holy Pascha). Celebrating the rising from the tomb of the Lord Jesus, the firstborn from the dead (Col. 1. 18), who reconciled the world to Himself (2 Cor. 5. 19), we give Him praise and thanksgiving for the opportunity to be heirs of the heavenly kingdom. This feast of feasts fills our hearts with inexpressible joy, strengthens us on the path of earthly wandering and encourages us to proclaim with unflagging strength and boldness to our neighbors and neighbors the eternal comfort and the hope of good news in grace (2 Thess. 2. 16). May the Risen Christ grant you and all your God-loving flock peace and long life, sending you good health and His abundant help in the work of your Primacy. With brotherly love for the Risen Lord,” – the letter of congratulations reads.

Recall, earlier we reported that US President Donald Trump published an original Easter greeting addressed to Americans. In the text, the head of the White House called his predecessor in office Joe Biden “destructive idiot”, and his political opponents “crazy leftists”, accusing them of complicity in the rampant crime and gang violence in the United States.
