Those who are not in canonical connection with Epiphany have no right to serve in Ukraine, - religious scholar

Yuriy Chornomorets, a supporter and lobbyist of the OCU in the media, religious scholar and member of the Sophia Brotherhood, said that Orthodox clergy who do not have a canonical connection with the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, have no right to act on the territory of Ukraine. Chornomorets added that the head of the OCU should consider anathematizing all hierarchs and clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and demand their expulsion from the country. Chernomorets said this on the air of the YouTube channel “Viche”, according to publicist and deacon of the UOC Andriy Glushchenko.

«According to the Tomos, only the Orthodox Church in Ukraine can be here. And accordingly, according to the Tomos, everyone should really join it. And whoever is not in canonical connection with Metropolitan Epifaniy, accordingly, is not legally here in Ukraine, does not serve legally here in Ukraine,» — noted Chernomorets.

The religious scholar added that for the “canonical violation,” the head of the OCU should anathematize all the clergy of the UOC who did not obey the Tomos of autocephaly of the OCU. Moreover, in his opinion, it is necessary to involve Patriarch Bartholomew in this issue in order to finally limit the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the country.

«Of course, the situation that the Patriarch of Constantinople should consider, which Metropolitan Epifaniy should also consider, is to anathematize all these followers of Metropolitan Onufriy as those who violate the canonical order, who are on someone else’s canonical territory, who act here, respectively, constantly; then as those who are in connection with Patriarch Kirill, who, accordingly Yes, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine did not literally anathematize him [Kirill], but there is a decision of the [OCU] Bishops’ Council that he damned himself, and his entire doctrine of the “Russian world” is a Gnostic heresy, and all who are in canonical connection with him, in administrative connection, especially there, commemorate him, moreover, they all, of course, also fall under this curse, which he himself fell under, Patriarch Kirill,» — he added.

Earlier, Yuriy Chornomorets stated that despite the ongoing pressure on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the churches of this denomination are visited by many more people than the religious buildings belonging to the OCU. The religious scholar noted that the OCU has a large number of internal problems that the organization continues to ignore. In addition to the low attendance of the OCU churches, Chernomorets also noted the problem of the recognition of the Ukrainian schism by the Local Churches, which has actually stopped.
