"Chaplain" of the OCU calls for the complete expulsion of the UOC from Ukraine

«The chaplain» of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), Roman Gryshchuk, once again called for the complete expulsion of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) from the territory of Ukraine. As he pointed out, in order to preserve the spiritual unity and security of Ukraine, it is necessary to «completely push out the structures of the Moscow Patriarchate from the country.» Details of the publication can be found on Gryshchuk’s Facebook page.
«We talk about the unity of Ukraine, about peace, but how can this be achieved if the Moscow Patriarchate is present in the country, supporting aggression and propagating anti-Ukrainian sentiments?» emphasized the «chaplain.»
Earlier, during an interview, a clergyman of the OCU also emphasized that the presence of the UOC in Ukraine is not only a religious issue but also a matter of national security.
«We cannot ignore the fact that bishops and priests of the Moscow Patriarchate openly support the policies of the Kremlin, actively promoting ideas that harm our statehood,» he said.
Gryshchuk also noted that even after the opportunity was given to UOC representatives to «leave the jurisdiction of the Moscow Patriarchate,» many priests did not take advantage of this right. «Many of them continue to stand on positions that directly or indirectly support the aggressor,» emphasized the OCU representative.
He reminded that in 2022, the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience stated that an official letter of renunciation of the Moscow Patriarchate was enough to fulfill the requirement for separation. However, according to Gryshchuk, UOC representatives were not in a hurry to act.
«The Muscovites openly despise those who indulge them and show tolerance,» he emphasized in his publication.
«What we see now is not the Church. It is a totalitarian sect that has nothing in common with Orthodoxy, but everything in common with pro-Russian propaganda,» added Gryshchuk.
He concluded his publication with a statement that in order to preserve Orthodoxy in Ukraine, there can be «no stronghold of Russian propaganda» in the country.
Earlier, it was reported that the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, met with the scandalously infamous «chaplain» Roman Gryshchuk, who is responsible for organizing raider seizures of Ukrainian Orthodox Church buildings in the Chernivtsi region. Dumenko presented Gryshchuk with the book «With God – Victory» and discussed «current issues of the OCU’s life» with the raider.
