The Chairman of the ROC DECR, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, met with the delegation of the Orthodox Church in America. The OCA delegation was led by Archbishop Alexy of Alaska and Sitka. This is reported by the ROC DECR Communication Service.
It is reported that Archbishop Alexy was accompanied by the rector of the Church of the Great Martyr Catherine on Vspolye in Moscow, the representative of the Orthodox Church in America to the Moscow Patriarchal Throne, Archpriest Daniel Andreiuk, Chancellor of the Alaska Diocese, Archpriest Daniel Charles, Secretary of Archbishop Alexy of Alaska and Sitka, Priest Thomas Rivas, and clergy of the Alaska Diocese.
Having cordially greeted the guest, the head of the DECR conveyed greetings to the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon. During the conversation, the situation in the Orthodox world was discussed.
Earlier, the defrocked former cleric of the Russian Orthodox Church, Kirill Govorun, said that among the representatives of the Orthodox Local Churches located in the United States, there is an ambiguous attitude towards the conflict between the UOC and the OCU. Govorun claims that even in the Orthodox Church of America, which received autocephaly from the Russian Church, there are hierarchs who are ready to recognize the OCU.
