In social networks published a photo of the real number of supporters of the ОCU at the holiday “services” in the seized churches

In Cherkasy, on the day of the Ascension of Christ, “festive” events took place in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church churches seized by OCU raiders. According to observations, the number of OCU supporters in the city remains quite small, forcing organizers to move participants between several seized churches to simulate a mass event. This observation was made by the channel «First Kozatsky.»
In particular, at the St. Michael’s Cathedral, which is under OCU control, photos published on social media show a small number of attendees — only a few dozen people. The published pictures mainly consist of portrait shots of clerics and a small number of parishioners, while there are no wide shots demonstrating the scale of the event.
Another group of participants was directed to the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Courtyard, also seized by OCU representatives. There, together with the local leader Ivan Yaremenko, a celebration took place, but the number of attendees was also limited.
Earlier, it was also reported that on May 28, 2025, the executive committee of the Cherkasy City Council convened an extraordinary session, during which a decision was made to revoke ownership rights to all land plots used by the Cherkasy diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the city. The meeting was held in such an “urgent” mode that most participants attended online.
