Patriarch of Jerusalem: We pray for peaceful resolution of the conflict between sisters and brothers in Russia and Ukraine

The Primate of the Jerusalem Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos, called for a speedy resolution of the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The First Hierarch noted that peace in Ukraine will help restore church unity. He said this during a sermon at the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem. This was reported by the official website of the Jerusalem Patriarchate.
“We pray for a peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict between sisters and brothers in Russia and Ukraine, for peace and reconciliation to prevail between these peoples, and for the unity of the Church to be restored,” — said Patriarch Theophilos.
Earlier, we reported that the hierarch of the Greek Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus, called for the convening of a Pan-Orthodox Council to resolve the Ukrainian church crisis. The hierarch noted that due to the church situation in Ukraine, pan-Orthodox unity has been seriously shaken, which must be restored jointly.
