Primate of Albanian Orthodox Church to visit Phanar

An official visit of the Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Archbishop John, to Phanar has been announced for June 13, 2025. The First Hierarch will visit the Patriarchate of Constantinople, where for the first time since his election he will concelebrate with Patriarch Bartholomew as the Primate of the AOC. This is reported by the media.

It is reported that on Saturday, June 14, at 11:00, Archbishop John will lead the doxology in the Patriarchal Church of St. George. After that, an official reception will be held in the Throne Room with the participation of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and members of the Holy Synod of Phanar.

On Sunday, June 15, on the Feast of All Saints, a festive Divine Liturgy will be held at the Patriarchal Church. The Patriarch of Constantinople and the Archbishop of Albania will concelebrate with the hierarchs of both churches. After the service, the two Primates will exchange official greetings.

Earlier, the Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Archbishop John, spoke about the Ukrainian church issue. The First Hierarch drew attention to the fact that the creation of the OCU split world Orthodoxy, noting that the Synod of the Albanian Church expressed its position on this issue and it remains unchanged.
