UOC hierarch claims assassination attempt on his life

The hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Longin (Zhar) of Bancheny, reported that he was going to be killed. The bishop said that a group of people had arrived in Chernivtsi from Ivano-Frankivsk to commit a crime against him. He said this after another court hearing initiated against him by the state.

“A group from Ivano-Frankivsk arrived. Specially for me, to remove me from life. I am not afraid of anything. I have no security. They say that I am guarded by paramilitary guards. I’ve never seen them before. Our protection is from heaven,” – said Metropolitan Longin.

As we reported earlier, on February 6, 2024, Metropolitan Longin (Zhar) of Bancheny said that he had been attacked. According to the bishop, the incident occurred on January 22 at about 3 am.
