Another UOC Priest Detained by Military Officials in Ternopil Region

On June 24, 2025, military enlistment officers in the Ternopil region detained another clergyman of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The news was shared by Archpriest Heorhii Prokopchuk, a cleric of the UOC’s Ternopil Diocese. The report was published by the “Pershyi Kozatskyi” media channel.

«A church without services, a flock without a shepherd, a priest on the training ground. Please pray for Fr. Ihor,» the priest wrote.

Earlier, the Ternopil Regional Military Enlistment Office explained the recent forced mobilization of two UOC clerics — Archpriests Ioann Koval and Heorhii Pryimak. According to the enlistment office, the priests were not officially exempted from conscription, and their clerical status does not grant them automatic release from military duty.
