Deputy Mazurashu called for punishment of OCU supporters who attacked the UOC Cathedral in Chernivtsi

Georgiy Mazurashu, a member of the Ukrainian parliament from the Servant of the People party, called on law enforcement agencies to identify and punish supporters of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine who attempted to attack the Holy Spirit Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Chernivtsi. He wrote about this on his Facebook account.

«I don’t know which side these young people are on in these unnecessary religious conflicts, I don’t know which denomination the priest belongs to, but there should be no such conflicts in our country, absolutely none. I think these images are enough to identify all the participants in the fight. All these thugs must be brought to justice! And if someone has excess energy and a desire to fight with someone, there is no need to show it on the streets against defenseless fellow citizens — you can show your heroism on the battlefield against the Russian occupiers. As a last resort, you are welcome to participate in combat sports, where you can demonstrate your skills in fair competition with equal opponents,» — Mazurashu wrote.

Earlier, we reported that Romanian MEP Luis Lazarus condemned the actions of radicals against the clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Chernivtsi, emphasizing that the attacks affected representatives of the Romanian minority.
