A number of Athos monasteries stop accepting representatives of OCU

Some monasteries of the Holy Mount Athos have stopped accepting representatives of the OCU. This decision was made in connection with the aggressive policy of the OCU towards the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This was announced by Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria.

«Initially, a number of Athos monasteries received representatives of the OCU, but now they do not, because they see that this structure is violent, that it seizes churches by force, that priests are fighting, that the churches of the OCU are empty. The state took away the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, gave it to this structure, and now the monastery is empty, they organize cooking shows there. When it becomes clear and obvious on what basis they exist, then everything will gradually fall into place, and the problem will be overcome,» — said Patriarch Daniel.

We will remind, at the end of November 2024, a group of pilgrims, including chaplains of the OCU and servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, visited the Holy Mount Athos. While traveling through the monasteries of Athos, those who took part in the pilgrimage shouted nationalist speeches and took photos with the national flag of Ukraine.
