Several priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are being forcibly detained at a military unit in the Lviv region

Clergymen of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, who were previously detained by employees of the Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRC) in various regions of the country, are being forcibly held in one of the military units in the Lviv region. The priests are being pressured to sign documents and begin military service on the front lines. This was reported by Pershyi Kozatskyi.

«Our sources report that several clergymen of the UOC are currently being illegally held in one of the military units in the Lviv region. The priests were previously abducted by TCC employees. According to our information, the unit is holding Father Dmytro Senetovich, rector of the Blagoveshchensk Church of the UOC in the city of Piatykhatky, Father Rostislav Kalinovsky, rector of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Pochaivska” of the UOC, and several others. Along with the clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, several clergymen of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyiv Patriarchate and Protestant pastors are also being illegally detained. All representatives of religious organizations are being pressured. They refuse to sign documents and take the oath,» — the media reports.

Earlier, we reported that the Ternopil Regional Territorial Center for the Recruitment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine explained the recent forced mobilization of two clergymen of the Ternopil Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church — Archpriests Ioann Koval and Georgy Pryimak. According to the Territorial Center, the clergymen were not exempt from mobilization, and their rank is not a reason for exemption from military service.
