Greek Orthodox media criticize OCU for joint religious events with UGCC

The Greek Orthodox publication KATANIXI criticized the OCU for holding joint religious events with Ukrainian Greek Catholics. The media attention was drawn to the recent joint “consecration” by representatives of the OCU and the UGCC of a construction site at the Omega Special Training Center, which is located in Kyiv. The authors of the publication pointed out that such cases are not uncommon for the OCU and once again indicate that under the control of Phanar, a plan to create a new union between Orthodox and Catholics is being implemented in Ukraine. This is reported in a publication on the website katanixi.gr.

«The liturgical relations of the non-ordained priests of the schismatic pseudo-church of Ukraine with the Uniates are not surprising. They fit into the general context of the well-planned and gradually implemented union of the Orthodox Church under the supervision of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. It should be recalled that during the “Unification” Council in Kyiv (2018), which was chaired by Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon (representing Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople) and created/‘legalized’ the new autocephalous pseudo-church of Ukraine of the non-ordained Epiphany Dumenko, the Uniates were invited,» — the article states.

At the same time, the publication drew attention to the fact that the OCU, being subordinate to Phanar, organized persecution of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

“The schismatic nationalist Uniate formation, which arose and strengthened thanks to Phanar, threatens, expels and persecutes the Orthodox of Ukraine, who continue to remain faithful to the canonical Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and the Ukrainian Church,” — the publication added.

Earlier, we reported that the largest Greek church media Romfea and The Orthodox Times published materials on the unsuccessful attempt to seize the Holy Spirit Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Chernivtsi by supporters of the OCU. The authors of the publications do not hide their shock at the event and call on Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople to finally intervene in the “shameful situation” taking place in Ukrainian Orthodoxy.
