“Criminal authority and brewer”: The media named the main sponsors of the OCU

The publication Glavkom has published information about which members of the Ukrainian business elite are sponsoring the activities of the OCU. It is noteworthy that among the patrons of the Ukrainian schism are a criminal authority and the head of an alcohol production enterprise. The information was published on the Glavkom website.

It is reported that the curator of the Dnipropetrovsk diocese of the OCU and one of the major sponsors of the organization is criminal authority Alexander Narekleshvili (Petrovsky), known in narrow circles under the pseudonym “Narik.” According to media reports, it was Nareklishvili who was actively involved in the process of granting the Tomos of Autocephaly to the OCU.

Another major patron, according to the media, is Ukrainian businessman and owner of the First Private Brewery Andriy Matsola. It is noteworthy that in 2021, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople granted Matsola the status of archon (patron, ed.) of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.

Recall that Mykola Knyazhitsky, a member of the Ukrainian parliament from the European Solidarity party, believes that Ukraine could learn from the experience of many other countries and provide at least basic social protection for the clergy of the OCU. Knyazhitsky complained that the shortage of personnel in the OCU is not least due to the fact that the organization has extremely low salaries and social security.
