“Is the conflict escalating?”: Mykhailo Zinkevych once again ignored Epiphanius Dumenko

The odious head of the Volyn Diocese of the OCU, Mykhailo Zinkevych, once again ignored his boss, Epiphanius Dumenko. On July 15, when all OCU officials, led by Dumenko, celebrated Statehood Day (as the New Style Baptism of Rus is now called) at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which was taken from the UOC, Zinkevich started his own celebration. Together with Roman Catholics and Uniates, he performed religious ceremonies on the ruins of the oldest Orthodox church in Lutsk in honor of the Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian. «It is noteworthy that Zinkevich was at the OCU officials’ congress, which took place in Kyiv the day before. So, technically, he didn’t do anything wrong. However, such a step on his part is more than revealing. Or perhaps during the “council” Dumenko said something to Zinkevich that simply forced him to leave the capital in an emergency?», — the media noted.

We would like to remind you that on February 2, 2025, a meeting of the Synod of the OCU was held in Kyiv. During the event, a number of internal decisions were made. In addition, the organization paid attention to the activities of the odious head of the Volyn Diocese of the OCU, Mykhailo Zinkevych. The hierarch was accused of violating the provisions of the Tomos and the Apostolic Rules, disobeying Epiphanius Dumenko, and “separating himself and the diocese he heads from the fullness of the OCU.”
