The Chernivtsi Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church warned about the actions of a provocative religious scholar in the churches of Bukovina

The Chernivtsi-Bukovina Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church warns believers in Bukovina that a provocative religious scholar is operating in the region, deliberately causing scandals in UOC churches. This refers to local religious scholar and OCU lobbyist Alexander Brodetsky, who conducts systematic propaganda against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the media, while staging fake “shows” with Russian literature that he allegedly finds in UOC churches. This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Chernivtsi-Bukovina Diocese of the UOC.
«People of Bukovina, be careful! Alexander Brodetsky systematically stages provocations in Orthodox churches. A coincidence? After his photo and video shoot in the cathedral and St. Nicholas Church, there was a bloody storming of the cathedral by Chokalyuk’s militants and an attempt to storm St. Nicholas Church. Call the police immediately if:
— photo and video recording is prohibited in your church, and Mr. Brodetsky does not respond to your comments;
— you do not want Mr. Brodetsky to film you without your permission for his unclear purposes. According to Article 307 of the Civil Code of Ukraine, filming a person should only take place with their consent.
Be careful, the provocateur may:
1) bring provocative literature with him and photograph it in your church;
2) photograph the location of surveillance cameras;
3) photograph the employees and clergy of your church,» — the diocese notes.
Earlier, Alexander Brodetsky expressed concern that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church may comply with the requirements of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience, according to which the Church is required to sever relations with the Moscow Patriarchate. Brodecki believes that the leadership of the UOC may agree with the ROC to take these steps, but at the same time, ties with the Russian Church will not be severed.
