We previously reported that despite the ban on mass events in Ukraine due to the hostilities, the Israeli Ministry of Transport is again preparing a mass pilgrimage of Hasidim to the Ukrainian city of Uman to celebrate Rosh Hashanah. This time, the events will take place on September 22-24, 2025. It is noteworthy that due to the closure of Ukraine’s airspace, Jewish pilgrims will enter Ukraine through neighboring countries — Moldova, Romania, and Poland.
Moldova will assist in organizing Hasidic pilgrimages to Uman

The Moldovan government is acting as a mediator in organizing the pilgrimage of Hasidim from Israel to Uman. Moldova is concerned that there will be no provocations against the Hasidim on its territory. This was reported by the website NEWS Live.
“We want the process to proceed correctly and transparently, as it has in previous years. Everything must be done legally and correctly so that there are no violations on the territory of the Republic of Moldova,” — said Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi.
It should be added that during the 2023 pilgrimage, Israel owed Moldova about $200,000, which was spent on measures for the transit of Hasidim. Because of this, in 2024, Chisinau refused to allow Jews to pass through its territory.
