The Chernihiv Regional State Administration reported on the number of UOC parishes that were successfully re-registered with the OCU

The Chernihiv Regional State Administration reported on the number of parishes of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the region that the state managed to re-register in the OCU. It is noted that since 2019, the number of re-registrations has not exceeded 40 legal entities. This was reported by the regional publication CheLine.
“Perhaps these transitions are not as numerous as we would like, but this is a matter for religious communities. If we talk about statistics, starting with the Tomos, to date we have 37 completed transitions. That is, this number of communities has submitted all the necessary documents, there is an order from the head of the regional military administration, and these communities have already entered the information into the Unified State Register. That is, we are talking about 37 officially completed confessional transitions. We currently have four more sets of documents under consideration by the Regional State Administration. These documents are being reviewed, so four more communities can be added to the 37. It’s a matter of a few weeks,” – explained Oleksiy Stepanenko, head of the Department for Nationalities and Religions of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Nationalities and Religions of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration.
We recently reported that Archimandrite Seraphim (Lisovyi), rector of the parish in honor of St. John the Theologian in the village of Kyslyivka, Chernihiv district, Chernihiv region, defected to the schism and joined the OCU. The event took place on August 6, 2025.
